Overview

Cruise: Sundarbans 1.5 Day/1 Night Cruise

Two Days/One Night
Today, venture into the thrilling and stunning Sundarbans. After an early breakfast you will be transferred by coach to a privately hired boat, your home for the next day and a half. As one of the largest mangrove forests on the earth, the World Heritage landscapes of the Sundarbans National Park form the spectacular backdrop to your cruise. Home to Royal Bengal Tigers, estuarine crocodiles and some 260 species of birds, this incredible network of islands, creeks and mud-flats provide the setting for an unforgettable boat trip, exploring just a small part of the 10,000 square kilometres of forest and freshwater swamps that cover this vast delta. En route, you will stop to meet the dying tribes of local fishermen who still use the ancient method of catching fish with their fellow animal sidekicks: otters, a symbiotic and beautiful partnership that is estimated to die out within 10 years. If there is time, there is the option (£20) to take you for a quick motorbike night ride along a local village – racing past villages and paddy fields. Lunch and dinner are served on board. Disembarking in the port of Mongla, the next day you will be met and transferred back to Jessore airport.
