Day 13 < >

Overview

Dhaka Full Day Capital City Tour

After breakfast, you will head out for a whole day of exploring around Dhaka. You’ll take in some of the highlights of this vibrant city and pass the National Parliament, the vision of late American architect Louis Kahn, which is heavily featured in his son’s prize winning 2003 film ‘My Architect’, see the Pink Palace and Buriganga river front and venture into the maze of overcrowded bazaars, narrow streets and fascinating architectural gems that is old Dhaka, home also to the Rickshaw artisans whom you’ll meet. Later, stop to enjoy the capital’s famous local ‘Haji Biryani’, a meat and rice pilau dish for lunch. It’s an eatery run by a third generation family business. The city is known today as both the ‘City of the Mosques’ and the ‘Rickshaw Capital of the world’, due in no small part to the nearly half a million rickshaws that ply the city’s streets every day. Your farewell evening meal will be at a local restaurant (dinner included).
